Every time I think about how drab my desk job is, I read one of these accounts and I'm reminded how lucky I am that my profession doesn't put human lives at risk (and also doesn't require sharp reflexes, quick decision-making skills, or the ability to think straight under pressure, all abilities I do not possess in the slightest).
